Display Setup Guide

Initial Setup

This guide describes the setup process of the FarmTRX Display and docking station in the cab of a combine harvester.

If setting up the FarmTRX Display for the first time indoors, start by plugging the provided USB-C cable into the port on the right of the Display and into a power source to begin charging. Press and hold the red power button to turn the Display on.

If you are in the cab, connect the dock to power following the installation steps below, then mount the Display into the dock. Press and hold the red power button to turn the tablet on.
The initial setup wizard screen will appear, follow along all the steps. Certain steps such as setting up SIM cards may be skipped by pressing the “SKIP” button on-screen.

Complete the following steps to initially set-up the Display, these settings can be modified later if desired:

1. Select the preferred language and location, then press “Start”
2. If you have a SIM card enter it at step 2, if not press “SKIP”
3. Choose your Wi-Fi network and enter the password
4. Follow Google Android prompts:
   
   1. You can choose to copy data from another Android device by using your Google Account. Press
      “Next” to sync apps, photos, contacts etc. If you do not wish to copy data, press “Don’t Copy”.
   2. Sign in with your Google Account or skip. You will need to use a Google Account with the Google Play Store to download apps (including the FarmTRX Harvest App). Follow the system prompts through the sign-in process.
   3. Set the security pin for the device if desired, otherwise press “Skip”.
   4. Set up Hey Google AI assistant if desired, otherwise press “Skip”.
   5. Set up Google Pay if desired, otherwise press “Skip”

You may choose to change device settings like email, font size, wall paper etc. or set later in Settings.

App Setup

1. Navigate to the Google Play Store and search for the FarmTRX Harvest App using the search bar
2. Press “Install” to add the app to your device

Your FarmTRX Display is now set up and ready for harvesting. This tablet is non-proprietary and can be used like any other tablet, so feel free to use it in any machine or download any app off the Google Play Store onto the device. We don’t suggest Netflix and harvesting unless you have autosteer!

In-Cab Installation

Power

The Display dock comes with 2 leads for connecting to a fused 12V power source in the cab (the Display will accept 8-36V). Do not connect directly to the battery. If connecting to an unfused power source, a 5-amp inline fuse must be added.

The provided tablet docking system will charge the Display when connected to power. The screen or Display can be set to turn off or on when the engine is running using the ACC settings of the Display.

Mounting

Remove the RAM® mount ball from the RAM® assembly. The ball plate can be attached to the Display dock using the provided screws (x4) with a 2.5mm hex key (assembled pictured right).

Re-attach the RAM® ball to the mount arm. Attach the mount in the cab in an appropriate location for viewing the FarmTRX Harvest App while actively combining. Attachment methods will vary depending on the chosen style of RAM® mount.

Other Settings

Phone and Messages

If a SIM card with appropriate service level has been installed, you can use the tablet for making phone calls and sending SMS messages.

ACC Settings

You can control whether the Display automatically turns off and on with combine power:

1. Navigate to the Display Settings
2. Scroll down and select “System”
3. Click on “ACC Settings”

Turning the toggle on for “Close the Screen” will have the Display screen turn off when engine power is turned off. You can also set the delay for this feature. With the toggle turned on for “Shut Down,” the Display will turn off after the set delay time once the engine turns off.
